How to style a crop top when you don’t have a flat tummy- Fall Fashion 2016

This is my first ever fashion post. I am not a fashion designer nor am I a fashion expert. I’m just someone who likes to look good.

After my pregnancy, I gained a lot of weight and for a really long time I was conscious of how I look, how people perceived me and so on and so forth . It has taken me a long to finally accept that happiness lies within.

I have seen skinny super model size figured women wearing certain types of clothes and Ive often found myself wondering how would i look in it.  For the longest time I only wore jeans and loose tops that hid my post pregnancy belly.

But that has changed  and I’m glad that it did. This blog post will be on how to style short cropped tops for someone who doesn’t have a flat tummy.

The idea behind this is that I wanted to draw attention away from my stomach, that is why Ive worn bright yellow high heels. To match the shoes, Ive also worn a similar toned sun glasses and I’m carrying a similar colored clutch. A pop of color will always draw attention to it

The top that I’m wearing a black and white horizontal stripped top and Ive paired that with a black vest. The cropped top has a woolen feel, but its not wool. You can skin the vest if you dont have stretch marks. Thanks to my pregnancy, I have loads of them .

Simple Day Time Glam look

So, its good to be back . I know I’ve been away for a really long time . Its been an embarrassingly long time.
Nevertheless, todays look is a simple day time appropriate look. You can wear this look for a girls day out/ or for a date time date / or to the mall for shopping ( Thats if you like to wear makeup to the mall )

We all have come across so many different posts that say Banish Acne Naturally. Haven’t we ?

We often worry about acne, but we tend to forget the main reason why we get acne . Acne can be caused due to various factors.

The first step to fighting acne would be to analyse the cause of acne.

WHAT IS ACNE ?

It starts when greasy secretions from the skin’s sebaceous glands (oil glands) plug the tiny openings for hair follicles (plugged pores). If the openings are large, the clogs take the form of blackheads: small, flat spots with dark centers. If the openings stay small, the clogs take the form of whiteheads: small, flesh-colored bumps. Both types of plugged pores can develop into swollen, tender inflammations or pimples or deeper lumps or nodules. Nodules associated with severe cases of acne (cystic acne) are firm swellings below the skin’s surface that become inflamed, tender, and sometimes infected.

WHAT CAUSES ACNE ?

There are three main factors that cause acne

Three factors contribute to the formation of acne:

  • Overproduction of oil (sebum)
  • Irregular shedding of dead skin cells resulting in irritation of the hair follicles of your skin
  • Buildup of bacteria

Factors that may worsen acne

These factors can trigger or aggravate an existing case of acne:

  • Hormones. Androgens are hormones that increase in boys and girls during puberty and cause the sebaceous glands to enlarge and make more sebum. Hormonal changes related to pregnancy and the use of oral contraceptives can also affect sebum production.
  • Certain medications. Drugs containing corticosteroids, androgens or lithium are known to cause acne.
  • Diet. Studies indicate that certain dietary factors, including dairy products and carbohydrate-rich foods — such as bread, bagels and chips, which increase blood sugar — may trigger acne.

Acne myths

Contrary to what some people think, these factors have little effect on acne:

  • Greasy foods and chocolate have proved to have little to no effect on the development or course of acne.
  • Dirty skin. Acne isn’t caused by dirt. In fact, scrubbing the skin too hard or cleansing with harsh soaps or chemicals irritates the skin and can make acne worse. Simple cleansing of the skin to remove excess oil and dead skin cells is all that’s required

(These capsules are easily available in any chemist shop).Blend all the ingredients and store the mixture in a bottle and put it in the refrigerator.

Apply daily on the stretch marks area .Don’t forget to shake the bottle well before you apply the lotion. Its a long process but it works.

Olive oil provides nutrients to the skin. It packs vitamins A, D and E along with other nutrients into the stretch marks.

Alternatively you could get into the habit of applying olive oil on stretch marks immediately after you take bath.

7 x Eye shadows in midnight blue with iridescent shimmer, silver taupe sheen, matte off-white, metallic burgundy, metallic jade green, metallic golden brown, black with iridescent shimmer.

I have been obsessing over Marc Jacobs Eye shadow Palette Style Eye-Con no 7 (208 The Vamp). I bought this a while ago, actually a few months ago and I can’t seem to remember as to why I hadn’t used it until now.

The eye shadows are soft, Super Pigmented and are super bendable. The only drawback I found with this particular palette is that it does not come with a neutral brown that can be used to create a transition shade. Apart from this, this palette is super ease to use.

Pros:

– It does not have any fall out

– It is super pigmented

– Well in my case it definitely made me feel rich 🙂

Cons:

– It has only 1 matte eye shadow which is an off white matte.

– It does not come with a neutral eye shadow that can be used as a transition color

Honestly I couldn’t find any other fault with this palette.

For the price you spend for this palette, i think it’s worth it considering it makes you feel special (well in my case it does ). But if you are looking for a Return on Investment on this palette, then this is not for you.

 

I created a neutral everyday wearable looking using this palette.

Beauty Myths vs Facts 

Let’s be honest, we all have at some point tried all these different kinds of “Beauty Regime” in the hope that it would just magically work. But many a times we’ve been disappointed.

So I’ve decided to put down a list if Myth vs. Facts about makeup.

1.) To find your perfect foundation color, match it to your cheek, forehead, hand or wrist.

MYTH. Foundation should always be matched to your jawline as that is the place which will ideally match both your face and your chest.

 

2.) Use a concealer one shade lighter than your foundation to disguise under-eye darkness.

MYTH. It will only accentuate the under- eye darkness. Concealer should always match your skin color. It’s become a trend these days to wear a lighter concealer, but that on the assumption that you don’t have dark circles. If under-eye darkness is excessive, you’ll want to try a ‘color corrector’ to neutralize the discoloration

 

3.) Red lipstick is not for everyone.

MYTH.  False. Anyone can wear red lipstick, they just need to find the right red for them. Choosing the right color of red is very important. Choosing something very bright will make you look like a clown.

 

4.) It’s safe to share cosmetics and makeup

MYTH. By sharing brushes and other cosmetic tools, you risk swapping germs and bacteria with another person. Sharing eye makeup can result in a serious eye infection.

 

5.) Expensive cosmetics are better than inexpensive.

MYTH. The absolute truth is that there are good and bad products in all price categories. It’s all about the formulation, not the price. Spending less doesn’t hurt your skin, and spending more doesn’t help it. Again, it’s all about the formulation, not the price.

 

6.) Your skin adapts to products you use and eventually stop working.

MYTH. Skin doesn’t adapt to skin-care products any more than your body adapts to a healthy diet.

 

7.) Mature ladies cannot wear shimmery/frosty makeup

MYTH. Completely false! Shimmery makeup can be worn at any age. More important is how you wear it. You probably would want to wear a little less as you get older.

 

8.)  Always apply makeup in natural light

FACT. Natural light is less forgiving; therefore applying your makeup in it gives the most desirable results. If natural light is not available, use the strongest light possible.

 

9.) You should never ‘pump’ the mascara wand in and out of the tube

FACT. Doing so pushes air into the tube, hence drying out the mascara and increasing the risk of bacteria getting in. A more effective way of getting mascara onto the brush, is turning the wand inside the tube, and then gently pulling it out.

 

10.) Blackheads relate to cleanliness and can be scrubbed away.

MYTH. Blackheads may make skin look dirty, but they are unrelated to dirt.

11.) Waxing eyebrows causing wrinkles around the eyes.

MYTH. Natural aging, environmental damage, constant movement of eyes contributes to fine lines and wrinkles.

 

12.) For every gray hair plucked two will grow back in its place.

MYTH. Plucking gray hair will cause ONE new less pigmented strand of hair to grow in its place
